Freetown, June 23, 2015 (MOHS) – Planned Parenthood Association Sierra Leone (PPASL) with support from CORDAID has donated a consignment of 274 personal protective equipment kits to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for distribution to PPASL operational districts.
Presenting the donation, PPASL Executive Director, David Williams describe the gesture as part of their corporate partnership in the fight against the Ebola outbreak.
Mr. William noted the part played by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for the delivery of the items and expressed gratitude and appreciation for the timely arrival.
Receiving the items, Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation II, Madam Madina Rahman said the items came at a time when measures are being put in place to position infection prevention control in all health facilities across the country.
The Deputy Minister on behalf of the Ministry and government thanked PPASL and CORDAID for the donation, assuring them that the consignment will be utilized for the intended purpose.
“These items are very useful for our Post Ebola Recovery plan, and no amount of gift is small at this present state of the country’s health system”, opined Madam Rahman.
A Symbolic handing over of the donated items executed by PPASL Honourary President, Mr. Jacob Tucker formed high point of the ceremony.
