Mabohanday Donates PPEs to Health Ministry

Freetown, Dec 29, 2014 (MOHS) – The Mabohanday (Malimba) United States of America branch has donated Personal Protective Equipment worth 3,500 US Dollar to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in the fight against the Ebola Virus Disease in the country.

Making the presentation on behalf of the organization, the Chairman of Malimba, Rev T. K. Koroma said the donation was made possible through contributions made by their sister group in America to help compliment government’s efforts in the fight to contain the spread of the pandemic, hoping that the items would bring relief to the country as a nation.

He said as a tribe and national of the country, they would not sit by and watches the dreadful disease destroying the nation, and appealed to fellow Sierra Leoneans to join the fight.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Ministry and the government, the Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation, Mr. Foday Sawi recalled the previous donation of Le 90,000,000 made to His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma at State House as support to the fight against Ebola, and thanked the organization for the additional assistance.

He described the gesture as a demonstration of their patriotism in the fight to contain the disease and promised that it would be judiciously used for the intended purpose.

Mr. Sawi noted the destruction caused to the educational sector, and the ruins to the country’s economy, and appealed to other Sierra Leoneans abroad to emulate the works of Mabohanday in the fight to speedily end the Ebola war
